LUNA Fête - Arts Market New Orleans Rules and Guidelines

LUNA Fête is the Arts Council New Orleans' annual celebration of light, art, and technology. Across four nights each December, LUNA Fête transforms New Orleans' historic architecture into a playground of light. Join the celebration as an a Market vendor!

*Payment for the LUNA Fête Market denotes you have read, understood, and will comply will all market rules listed here and/or as directed by Arts Market/Council Staff. The rules are subject to periodic change and revision as necessary. Violation of any part of the Rules and Guidelines will result in first, a written warning from Market staff, at second violation the vendor will be prohibited from participating in future markets (if booth fees were paid in advance, these fees are forfeit.)

  • Market is held Thursday, December 12th – Sunday, December 15th from 6 – 10 pm nightly. Expense for production of LUNA Fête is incurred and paid in advance. Therefore, each exhibitor must assume the risk of a rain out or inclement weather for the market to continue to operate. Refunds or credits with Arts Council New Orleans will not be granted in case of market cancelation by the Market or the vendor.
  • LUNA Fête 2019 Market Options & Pricing:

The 2019 LUNA Fête Market includes approximately 10x10' space of ground for one exhibitor only in one of two downtown New Orleans locations for four nights, Thursday, December 12th – Sunday, December 15th. Overnight and 24/7 security will be provided at the location. Expense for production of LUNA Fête is incurred and paid in advance. Therefore, each exhibitor must assume the risk of a rain out or inclement weather for the market to continue to operate. Refunds or credits with Arts Council New Orleans will not be granted in case of market cancelation by the Market or the vendor. Price and availability vary between the two locations at Lafayette Square and around Piazza d’Italia.

    1. NEW LUNA Fête Market-Piazza - 4 NIGHTS
      A single booth is $390 for non-members and $350 for ACNO members, for the length of the show around Piazza d’Italia.
    2. NEW LUNA Fête Market-Piazza - 2 NIGHTS (Either: Thurs/Fri or Sat/Sun)
      A single booth is $250 for non-members and $210 for ACNO members, for the length of the show around Piazza d’Italia.
    3. SHARED BOOTHS (Available for 4 nights only) - Booth spaces to be shared by two vendors are also available for an additional fee. To sign-up as a shared booth, please purchase 1 booth space in the market of your choice as one of the two vendors. Then, email artsmarket@artsneworleans.org with the shared booth vendor information including the names and mediums of the vendors sharing the booth. For shared booths, an additional fee of $75 for non-members and $50 for ACNO members will be charged upon receipt of the shared booth information to artsmarket@artsneworleans.org. Any vendor found sharing booth space at the market during setup will be expected to pay the additional shared booth fee.
  • All Market exhibitors and vendors are required to obtain an Occupational License classified for "Special Events – Vendor (Other)" from the City of New Orleans. It is the responsibility of the artist/vendor to provide a digital copy of their license to the manager of the Market before participating in their first Market.
  • BOOTH ASSIGNMENTS are assigned by Arts Council staff. Final booth assignments will be emailed to vendors by the MONDAY before the Market. It is the responsibility of the vendor to confirm that they are or are not listed for and to notify Market staff if there is a mistake. Final decisions on booth assignments are at the discretion of the Market staff.
  • When setting up, vendors will comply with assigned spaces marked by Market staff
  • MARKET HOURS are 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Thursday, Dec 12 – Sunday, December 15th All vendors are required to be present at their booths during this time.
  • SET-UP FOR TENTS will occur in advance of the market, no later than Wednesday, December 11 in order for our market team to run power for market lights along tents. Details will be provided as market date approaches.
  • SET-UP FOR MARKET MERCHANDISE may begin at noon Thursday, December 12th and must be completed by 5pm that night.
  • TAKE-DOWN of any booth may not begin before 10:00PM Sunday, December 15th. Vendors may wait until the following morning to complete breakdown. All tents and merchandise must be removed by noon on Monday, December 16th.
  • WHITE TENTS are required from all vendors. All vendor tents must be 10x10' in size and come with a standard flame-resistant certificate. All vendors MUST have a white tent.
  • All vendors must keep a fire extinguisher that has a renewable and current certification tag affixed to it.
  • All tents must be either weighted or staked to the ground for the safety of Market patrons and other vendors.
  • POWER/ELECTRICITY will be provided to vendors for use with their own lights. Creative vendors are not allowed to bring or use any type of generator at LUNA Fête.
  • PARKING is not allowed along the immediate perimeter of Lafayette Square during market hours. Vendors are allowed to park on the perimeter of the LUNA Fête campus while they unload/break down then must move cars at least one block into the neighborhood before setting up.
    o Violation of parking policies will result in first, a written warning from Market staff, at second violation the vendor will be prohibited from participating in the next three Markets (if booth fees were paid in advance, these fees are forfeit.)
  • All art exhibitors must conduct their own sale transactions at the Market. Relatives (spouses, siblings, children, etc.) of art exhibitors are allowed to sell on behalf of Market artists but must be pre-approved by the Market manager.
  • The Market reserves the right to request and exhibitor to remove any item(s) from their display. Failure to remove such items after being asked by Market staff may result in exhibitor losing the opportunity to participate in future markets.
  • The Market reserves the right to reject any contract for exhibit space and reject any exhibitor.
  • All exhibitors agree to treat their fellow artists, vendors, and staff with courtesy and respect. Verbal or physical abuse of any artists, vendors, customers, market volunteers or staff will not be tolerated, and may result in the exhibitor losing the opportunity to participate in future markets.
  • All exhibitors are responsible for the collection of City and State Sales Tax. The Market will not collect or pay any taxes.
  • Exhibitor agrees to take care of grounds, cleaning up their area, and removing all trash at the end of the day. Failure to clean up trash may result in exhibitor losing the opportunity to participate in future markets.
  • The Artist/vendor grants to the Arts Council and its assigns an irrevocable license to make two-dimensional reproductions of the Artist Exhibitor Work for non- commercial purposes, including but not limited to reproductions used in advertising, brochures, media publicity, and catalogues or other similar publications, provided that these rights are exercised in a professional manner.
All participating exhibitors agree to WAIVE, DISCHARGE CLAIMS, AND RELEASE FROM LIABILITY the Arts Council of New Orleans, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and leaders from any and all liability on account of, or in any way resulting from Injuries and Damages, even if caused by negligence of the Arts Council of New Orleans' officers, directors, employees, agents, and leaders, in any way connected with the Market
